Ulgu

Realm of Shadow

Secrets, hidden truths, illusions and lies come as natural to Ulgu as breathing comes to us. Yes the realm itself will lie to you, obsidian dagger like mountains appear closer or further depending on how you look at them or how hard you try to get to them. Fog darker than midnight courses from the murky grey sea to hide the roots of swamp plants as they try to trip you into their brambles. Forests rearrange and caves appear at random, Ulgu is the perfect place to hide if you’re so inclined. When night approaches for the realms it is because Ulgu has eclipsed its twin realm Hysh.

Malerion King of Shadow

Malerion was once an elven prince who fell to his own ego and hubris attempting to conquer the elven peoples of the world that was. when the Mortal realms formed he awoke wreathed in shadows and healed in his divinity, becoming much like a sentient shadow. When sigmar arrived in ulgu he offered for Malerion to join his panethon in exchange for dominion over ulgu and a decent chunk of elven souls. When he saw how few elven souls remained in azyr he knew not all the souls where able to make it to the world that was determined to find where they went. They twins of Hysh Tyrion and Teclis aliied with their old enemy to seak their proples souls. They found Slaanesh, glutted and insensate from the vast number of elven souls from the world that was. Together the three elven gods wove a prison for the Prince of Pleasure out of impossible chains between the realm of light and shadow to ensure they would never be found. The three now drain souls from the chaos god slowly, purifying them in their own images.

The Grey Wind

Ulgu is the magic of illusion and lies. Most often called the grey wind or the night wind ulgu is a subtle and quiet wind that morphs shadows like liquid, calls light to take new and obscure forms, clouds minds and perceptions or even allows people to become more suggestable. It is often the preview of shadowmancers or grey mages. Often used by spymasters and assassins ulgu can also allow trained practitioners to teleport between blots of shadow. In its solid state ulgu becomes Falsestone which appears to be anything, but what it is to any without witch sight. Pebbels, logs, wads of mud or broken bone. In its true form it appears as a fragile gossamer like shroud that moves with the wind and tries to hide itself from everyone and everything. Often used as a alloy to obscure faces, cloak movements or silent footsteps. Some can even force the stones to conjure illusions. Overuse can make someone simply disappear or be beset by visions that will never be true but feel all too real.

Mortal Life

Life in ulgu is trickey. Mostly its relatively simple to hide, run or disappear in ulgu. Establishing anything permanent however is next to impossible without geomantic lay lines to solidify the murky depth of shadow. Nature here will try to trick you, make a fool of you and make your sense of reality betray you. Rely not on your eyes or ears, rely on your tools and the few unchangeable things in ulgu and you’ll make it out alive

Those of the realms

Dark Elves- Secritive shadow stalkers who belive in their own abillity beyond all else
Goblins- Small greenskins who live underground and surface only to cause mayhem, steal supplies and spread their fungal magics
Skaven- fendish rat men
Humans- adaptable but relitivly unreliable
