Early 1990's

By the early 90s, VHS, television, and the internet helped propel skateboarding further into the public eye. Street skateboard culture, catalyzed by Rodney Mullen, encouraged skaters to use their environment to their advantage, leading to the creation of new trick combos and enhancing the overall skateboarding experience.

By the mid 90's skateboarding become more solidified and big events like the X-games debuting in 1995, started to take place on sports TV and expose skaters skills to the rest of the world, gaining millions of skateboard fans.

Late 1990's

Then brands such as Girl, Flip, and Chocolate skateboards developed skateboards, skate materials, and continuing to improve on the previous designs to allow skaters to get more high quality skate hardware and boards in major cities around the world.
