Topic- Marching band and WGI
For this project, I want to explore the history and benefits that come with doing activities such as marching band and WGI (Winter Guard International). These activities are very important to me and something I thoroughly enjoy, despite being labeled as “nerd” activities. Marching Band especially has gained the reputation of being “nerdy”, “weird”, and a “useless” activity. I want to inform others of the true core of these activities, how they came to be (through military traditions) and hopefully have people see a different outlook to these activities and gain a broader view.
My idea for this project is to have a main home tab, explaining and defining what these activities are and video examples to display shows to watch. For my website, there will be a home tab, history of Marching band tab, History of WGI Tab, and finally, a tab to explain why these activities are important and how they are beneficial to anyone that joins. Each page will display images and video clips throughout as examples and visual interest.
