About

Exhibition

In a collection of graphics, posters, and prints, curators, E. Carmen Ramos, and Claudia Zapata, showcase their exhibition, ¡Printing the Revolution! The Rise and Impact of Chicano Graphics, 1965 to Now.This immersive experience of prints and graphics showcases the importance Chicano graphic art has had in conveying themes and motifs of social justice, civil rights, and Chicano identity. Chicano art encompasses the culture, the identity, the activism, the political and social injustice of what it means to be Chicano and Latinx in the United States. The exhibition showcases how that art has changed and how it has stayed the same. The viewers can see that inspiration was drawn from the 20th century and how those themes of the past are carried into the 21st century.
