What is ASCII Art?

ASCII art is a graphic design technique using computers for presenting pictures from 128 characters defined by the ASCII Standard from 1963 and ASCII compliant character sets. Basically, its text-based art. This started because early printers lacked graphics ability and characters were used in place of these graphical marks.
