Rocks and Minerals Outline
So, what are rocks and minerals? Minerals are Earth materials that tend to have a simple, homogeneous chemical make up. In other words, they are (mostly) made up of just one chemical compound. They tend to form crystals. Rocks are mixtures of minerals. You can think of a Rock as a soup, and the minerals are the ingredients. Or perhaps you can come up with a better analogy on your own.
