Introduction to today's lecture

Well, here we are- I've got no voice! I'm sorry that I didn't warn you before you came into class today, but my voice got worse overnight and I didn't have time to email you all before class today. Heck, I don't even have your email addresses! To solve that little problem, I've created the Online Assignment. This is the first thing that you need to complete. In fact, go ahead and do it now. It will only take a second or two.

You would think that if I have the entire lecture on Powerpoint slides, then it shoud be easy for me to create webpages. Wrong. If you jump ahead to the powerpoint slides, you'll see that they just don't replace a real lecture: in class, I fill in all of the blanks by talking. Also, I can answer questions when I'm there in the room with you. In any case, these next few classes may be a struggle, but lets see how we can do. Contact me via email if you have trouble.

I'm going to start the 'lecture' where we left off: How do we know the age of the Earth?
