Michael I. Anyaibe

BIO

Hello, my name is Michael I. Anyaibe. Just Michael is fine by me.

I'm a senior here at Towson University. I transfered from Montgomery College, where I graduated with an Associates in Applied Science. I'm studying Graphic Design throughout my time in college, although my true passion and goal in life is ultimately Game Development. I joined this class in hopes of relearning and expanding my knowledge of coding languages to help get closer to my passion.

You probably guessed it by now: outside of class I really like to play video games. It's pretty much my favorite pass time. I mostly enjoy more action-oriented games, as well as RPGs, and I'm pretty enthusiastic about the VR scene. I also like to draw- although I don't do it much- and read webcomics. Other than that, I've also been getting into learning about HEMA and other martial arts. Not practicing it, no, just learning about it through YouTube videos and stuff. Just thought it was cool, the nuances of it all.

PROJECT 1 | Web Exhibition

Project 1 - Art Expedition

For Project 1, I was thinking of showcasing the work of Takashi Murakami, a Japanese contemporary artist, in an imaginary exhibition. His work is incredibly expressive and colorful, and mainly inspired by various pop culture, anime, and traditional post-war Japanese art. Besides art, he also designs accessories, fashion, and toys.

Another artist I'd like to showcase is Tessa Mars, a Haitian visual artist born and raised in Port-au-Prince. Her work represents her efforts to reconnect to a Haitian perspective of the world. Through her paintings, audio pieces and papier mache objects, she tries to locate a "spiritual space" of migration based on our relations to the land and to the idea of belonging.

The final artist I'm showcasing is Madeleine Bialke, a landscape painter born in 1991 in New York. Her paintings are revered as "ethereal" and said to emit a "dreamlike quality." Bialke focuses on anthropomorphizing nature, using supple rounded tree forms and softly curved plants, as well as iridescent colors to indicate emotion.
