What is Gallery Blue Door?
Established in 2018, Gallery Blue Door is a contemporary fine art gallery in Mount Vernon, which is the heart and Cultural District of Baltimore, Maryland. We primarily highlight many merging and established artists, and frequently exhibit work from regional and East Coast artists, and are expanding our reach. From 2018 to the end of 2021, Gallery Blue Door hosted six exhibits a year, one of them being a two person exhibition. The gallery is now divided, allowing three rotating solo exhibits at once, with the fourth space as a permanent exhibit for the gallery owner and director Scott Philip Goergens. The new format allows more artists to exhibit throughout the year with exciting crossovers. Our mission is to support upbringing artists, and give anyone who visits joy and happiness from the art shown; and for them to bring that happiness into their hearts and homes. Gallery Blue Door is on the first floor of a home that was built in 1842, it meanders the length of the building which provides a unique experience for our guests. Wall colors were selected by Matthew J. Mosca, a historic paint expert and a designer by the name of Henry Johnson. The gallery is owned and operated by artist Scott Philip Goergens and his husband Scott Howard. It is our goal to keep art and the culture of art strong in the neighborhood and Baltimore itself.
