Frida Khalo

Frida Khalo was a Mexican painter born in 1907 to a German father and Mexican mother. As a teenager, Khalo was in a bus accident, giving her serious injuries and needing more than thirty operations throughout her life. During recovery, she taught herself how to paint. She's best known for her various self-portraits and paintings with themes such as despair, identity, the human body, and death.

Georgia O'Keeffe

Georgia O'Keeffe was an American painter born in 1887 and grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. Her talent for art was recognized by her teachers as she studied to be an artist. O'Keeffe is best known for her large paintings of natural subjects, especially of flowers and bones. She is considered to be one of the most influential figures in Modernism.

Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch painter born in the Netherlands. He's considered to be one of the greatest of the Post-Impressionists and his work influenced Expressionism in modern art. Growing up, Van Gogh would often take walks in the country, observing nature. At the age of 16, he became the apprentice of an art dealer company where his uncle worked. His constant contact with art work fuled his artistic sensibility.
