project idea:

I chose is a real exhibition titled “Oh, Gods of Dust and Rainbows” from The Cleveland Museum of Art (USA), 2022. It’s described as “a multivenue exhibition that embraces art as an agent of transformation, a mode of healing and a therapeutic process,” so I want to work with as gentle, neuteral color palette to compliment this, but with a single pop of a strong color to highlight the idea of “transformation,” like a deep red. The artists will be Yoshitomo Nara (a personal favorite of mine), Nicole Eisenman, and Tyler Mitchell. The only photography will be the work of Tyler Mitchell, but his imagery has a softer tone as it works with the idea of a “Black Utopia” and imagines paradise, so it feels dreamy. I think an overall dreamy tone will work perfectly with the other works of art I choose to focus in on. Examples of the artwork can be seen below.
