Hi, my name is Jade Nicole, but you can just call me Jade. I go by she/they pronous and I am an Asian-American illustrator who mainly draws girls and fish. I was born in Bacolod, Philippines and grew up Baltimore,MD since I was three.
My mother is Filipino and my father is Chinese and Spanish, but they both lived in the Philippines and met each other in college. They moved to California two years ago and have two maltipoo puppies named Mochi and Snow. Mother is an ICU nurse and father was a facility supervisor in a hospital, but is now happily a house husband. I also have two older brothers and they are both majoring in IT. Aside from drawing, I like to learn dances, play video games, and hang out with my cat, Monkee. I am the president of TUKDC and I work as a graphic designer on campus.
The work I make is pretty stylized since I want to create a space that is light-hearted, dream-like, and a bit cozy. I've had a fascination towards fish since I was a small child and it is very prominent in my work. The first thing that I wanted to be when I was little was to be a fish, which I find quite amusing now with the work I wam currently making. I have a character named "ISDA", which means fish in my native language, who is an imaginary fish-headed being. ISDA is a character that's been in my work since high school, but I've only started fully developing their personality recently. I wish to go in a direction towards publishing (childrens' books/comics).
