Hey There! :)

My name is Elizabeth Samuels and may this webpage give an insight on how and who I am!

me

When I first hit my 20s, I didn’t know who the hell I was, what I liked, and what made me..me.

However as I’m slowly approaching my 30s, (I’ll be turning 27 this year.. DAMN)

(( the 30s are the best years of your life. Thirty, flirty and thriving!!))

Having lived a couple lives (we can get into that a whole other time)

I feel the most confident I ever have in my entire life.

And truly, the key is learning to love the parts of yourself even the ones you find unlovable.

Anyways!

BACK TO ME,

ant

I have found that having hobbies really grounded and made me who I am. It gave me a sense of self worth that I had struggled with my entire life. And if you’re wondering what exactly did it for me…it was finally picking something!! hehe

And running with it!! What I chose ended up being cosplay. Cosplay is essentially the costume design of a character, and 'playing' the role. I don’t necessarily play the role however I found creating realistic, and tangible costumes is what spoke to me. I’ve always been into the fantasy genre, which eventually segwayed its way into me becoming one of the biggest anime nerds I know. It was during the pandemic that I found my way into this cosplay world. And it all started with a really easy character design from the popular anime Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, the character being Lust. I had a strapless black dress, black gloves from a previous halloween costume, and with a purchase of a wig later, I decided to take on the makeup look and was able to achieve the design the character has on her chest…and actually did it! I remember I was so excited and it awoke this fire within me to create more, and so I did. And now four years later, due to school, i’ve slowed down, however I’ve achieved over 100 looks in the past 4 years which … is insane reflecting back. While I still have big dreams within the cosplay industry, I did indeed find another passion while on the cosplay path, graphic design! Within cosplay, I have learned so many skills and while I wouldn’t call myself a master of any of the skills I’m about to list. I do think over the years I have learned some things :PP I learned how to hand sew, machine sew, make props, costume design, how to apply wigs, lighting, and lastly editing photos! I had access to photoshop, and used photoshop to edit the photos I took in the cosplays! Eventually my house got to a overwhelming state of STUFF and I wanted to sell the fruits of my labor, and figured I needed a logo and utilizing Illustrator I made one!! And thus began my passion for graphic design, and creating stuff. Now here I am 4 years later, from the pandemic, a completely new person, and having to take a course in web development :P.
