I received my PhD at Michigan State, working with Prof. Effie Kalfagianni and in the geometry and topology group. I study questions in topology, which is concerned with the "essential shape" of things. To date my research has focused on the subtopic called low-dimensional topology, meaning phenomena that occur in dimensions 2,3, and 4.
