Utilization of Instructional Media (ISTC 301)
Within this course materials, devices, techniques and settings are presented in an overview of the field of instructional technology.  Laboratory experiences are provided in the operation of instructional hardware. This introductory instructional technology course is required by all preservice teachers at Towson University. 

Graduate

Instructional Technology Foundations (ISTC 541)
This introductory graduate level instructional technology course is required by students in both the instructional design and educational technology tracks of the Towson University program.  This course introduces technologies and theories of learning and design to be used as a foundation for understanding how technology can be used to improve student learning. 

Instructional Video (ISTC 633)
This course explores the design and production of video for education and training.  The emphasis on instructional systems design process is supported by laboratory tasks that lead students through the process of producing instructional video.  Both digital and analog editing technologies are used within this course

Instructional Design and Development (ISTC 667)
This course serves as an overview and application of the instructional systems approach for problem solving and the design of instruction; emphasis is on media selection, needs assessment, prototyping implementation, and evaluation of instructional systems.

Distance Education Theory and Practice (ISTC 717)
This on-line graduate course focuses on relevant concepts and issues in distance education including theoretical foundations, technologies, concepts and current practice. 

Advanced Technology Integration Theory and Practice (ISTC 731)
This seminar course focuses on examining philosophies and theories driving instructional decisions about how to effectively integrate computer related technologies into a learning environment.  These discussions will continue through an analysis of design and development theory and the evaluation of computer-based instructional materials. 

Research Foundations of Instructional Technology (ISTC 741)
This seminar course will focus on examining philosophies and discourse upon which the field of instructional technology is built.  This course will examine historical research, organizational and governmental standards, alternative and critical theories, and paradigms and philosophies of learning, design, and technology.
