Skateboarding has become one of the most loved and exciting sports in the world within the past couple of decades. Its humble beginings starting out in California in the 50s, surfers created what we now know as the first skateboards made with a wooden plank and rollerskate wheels attched at the bottom. They used these homemade boards to ride on the sidewalks on the coast when waves were down, in which they called "sidewalk surfing". The start of skateboarding led to developments in skatboard hardware, increase popularity, and new styles, creating to skate legends such as Tony Hawk landing the first ever 900 on a vert-ramp to Rodney Mullen inventing the flatgound ollie and kickflip .
